WHO WE ARE/ OUR STORY
Feyi, Tolu, Tomiwa and Yinka, four recent MBA graduates, founded YAM in 2012 with the purpose of guiding young Africans through various aspects of a career in business.
We started out hosting brunches with featured speakers, creating both educational and networking opportunities for the growing YAM community. We built on that foundation with our business school partnerships by organizing and participating in panels at HBS, Wharton, NYU, Columbia, Kellogg, Duke, Georgetown, and many more.
A few years ago, we developed a structured mentorship program aimed at guiding Africans on the continent through the business school application process. This program, called BSP (Business School Prep), currently supports about 25 students annually and has a track record of placing them in top business school programs at HBS, Wharton, Stanford, Kellogg, Yale, Columbia, Duke, NYU etc.
From the business school admission process to career advice and mentoring, YAM’s resources help its members achieve success at each stage of a career in business.
YAM has grown from 60 members in 2012 to over 3,000 members today and is fully committed to the professional development of its members.
